The Domestic Trade Cooperatives and Cosumerism Ministry has just announced that petrol prices will go up for the month of June.
After three months of unchanged petrol prices from March to May which saw an increase come for the third month of 2015, the new prices that consumers will be paying are:
- RON 95: RM2.05 per litre
- RON 97: RM2.35 per litre (inclusive of GST 6%)
- Diesel: RM2.05 per litre
This sees an increase of RM0.10 per litre for RON 95, RON 97, and Diesel over the previous month of May.
As usual, we would expect a usual rush to the pumps to fuel up before the new prices take effect at midnight of June 1, 2015 but we don't think the time wasted queuing up is worth the cost savings.
