Mazda Australia Rolling Out Android Auto And Apple CarPlay Across The Range

Mazda Australia has announced that all of its new models will be fitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which will be rolled out in stages on new models as they are launched.

As for existing Mazda owners, the company said that existing models post-2014 with the MZD Connect infotainment system can choose to have it retrofitted, priced at AUD 494.98 (~RM 1,493.38).

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay utilizes either Android or Apple devices respectively, mirroring their phone’s content onto the infotainment system's display and allows the driver to use voice command for a hands-free operation. Both systems also feature navigation and music playback via various applications.

In Australia, the first Mazda model to be available with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is the BT-50, as the pickup truck is fitted with an Alpine head unit, instead of the MZD Connect infotainment system.

Mazda Australia managing director Vinesh Bhindi said, “The ability to fully integrate this technology into our existing offering will give Australians another reason to choose Mazda, but we are especially happy that it is something we can offer to our existing community of customers.”

Closer to home, the updated Mazda CX-9 is the first model to be fitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
