Bookings For The Proton X50 Opens Up in Brunei

Brunei opens up bookings for the Proton X70 - first export market for the new award-winning Proton darling.

It looks like Proton's plans to start exporting cars again is gaining some momentum, and while the Proton X70 has already been shipped to a couple of countries such as Pakistan and Brunei, it is now the turn of its newest darling, the X50. 

The Proton X50 is now up for booking in Brunei, making it the first export market for Proton's latest SUV. If we look at the recent Proton trend where the Proton X70 was first exported to Brunei, the neighbouring kingdom was always odds are going to be the first country to get the Proton X50 too. 

There's no mention of the variants and specifications on the advert from Proton's Brunei dealer Pad Motors, but it does mention that the Proton X50 has "a stunning exterior, smart connectivity features and class-leading performance". It then continues to say that it'll "awaken your inner spirit and show the world who you really are with the Proton X50".

The burning question really is, when will Brunei actually get their X50's because it's not like Proton's assembly facility in Tanjung Malim is free and easy at the moment. With around 47,000 units booked in Malaysia alone, we can safely say that they have got their hands full, especially when the plant can only produce around 4500 units a month based on previous reports.
