Beginning today (9 September 2015), a total of twelve or more toll plazas till go fully cashless from noon onwards. This was announced by the Malaysian Highway Authority as reported by Bernama.
As such, the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system requires road users to use either a SmartTAG, Touch ‘n Go or PLUSMiles card with sufficient funds loaded into them to pay for the toll charges at the mentioned toll plazas:
- Penang Bridge
- Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) Tunnel
- Ayer Panas, Sentul Pasar and Batu toll plazas – Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE)
- Jitra and Bukit Kayu Hitam toll plazas – North-South Expressway (PLUS)
- Gombak and Bentong toll plazas – Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK)
- Dato Keramat toll plaza – Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH)
- Lunas and Kubang Semang toll plazas – Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE) in Penang
